Description
The Riley is the cropped version of Agolde’s high-rise straight — same 11″ rise, same organic cotton rigid denim, but cut to hit around the ankle (about 26″ inseam on standard sizing). At 5’7″, the Riley sits right at my ankle bone, which is exactly where I want a cropped jean. The leg is true straight (no taper) with a clean raw or finished hem depending on the wash.
For the mom-jean category, the Riley is more straight-leg than true mom — there’s no hem taper, just a high rise and a cropped straight leg. If you’re shorter (5’5″ and under), these will likely hit at a full-length, which could actually be the better look on you. Honest note: “straight crop” is easy to cross-shop with a regular straight jean hemmed short. The value here is in the denim quality and the specific wash library Agolde curates. If you already own a good high-rise straight and a tailor, you can replicate this shape cheaper.
Why we recommend it: The cropped high-rise straight from the premium denim house. Clean ankle hit on taller frames, full-length on shorter ones. Agolde’s denim quality at a cropped length.
