Description
I’ve been wearing mom jeans since before they were viral, and the Wedgie is the one I keep coming back to. At 5’7″ and a size 28, the 10.5″ rise hits exactly where I want it — just above the belly button, no muffin-top pinch when I sit. The straight leg tapers slightly toward the hem (about 15″ leg opening on a 28) and that small tapered finish is what separates a real mom jean from a marketing rename. The name is literal: the cut shapes the seat the way good vintage denim does.
The rigid cotton (no stretch) is the whole point — this is the mom jean that holds its shape through an eight-hour day. I’ve had my first pair going on five years and they still fit the same in the seat as the day I bought them. Honest note: rigid denim is stiff for the first three or four wears. If you’ve only worn stretch jeans, commit to the break-in period. Washes vary — I’ve had better luck with medium-indigo batches than the very dark washes (one dark pair faded patchy at the knees faster than I’d expect).
Why we recommend it: THE mom jean. The 10.5″ rise, slight hem taper, and rigid cotton are the reference spec every other brand is chasing. If you only buy one pair of mom jeans, buy this one.
