Description
The 505 is the 501’s slightly looser cousin — same straight leg silhouette, but with a zipper fly instead of buttons and a touch more room through the seat and thigh. If you find the 501 too snug in the seat or you want to skip the button-fly fuss, the 505 is the move. It’s the jean a lot of guys mean when they say “regular fit” — nothing trendy, nothing fussy.
The fabric is the same 100% cotton denim Levi’s uses on the 501, so you get the same break-in process and the same long-term durability. Sizing runs true. The zipper fly is heavy-duty — we’ve never had one fail. Comes in roughly a dozen washes from rinse-blue rigid to dark stonewash.
Why we recommend it: The forgiving straight-leg Levi’s. Better seat-and-thigh room than the 501 with the same heritage construction.
