Description
Old Navy’s High-Waisted Wide-Leg is the entry-point wide leg for anyone who wants to test the silhouette before committing $80+ to Levi’s or Gap. Front rise is a solid 11″ (high but not extreme), leg opening is 20-21″, and the inseam runs 30″ regular with a 32″ long option. At 5’7″ and a size 28, the regular hits right above the floor in flats.
The denim is lightweight cotton-blend with noticeable stretch — more elastane than I’d prefer for holding a wide-leg drape, and the column does lose some structure because of it. After ten-plus washes mine has held shape well enough for the price, but the knees have a faint bagging and the wash has faded more than heavier denim would. Honest negatives: this is NOT the fabric weight for a dramatic wide leg drape — the lightweight stretch denim doesn’t hold its column the way Levi’s or Agolde does. If you want the structured silhouette, the fabric weight matters, and this is too light. For $45, it’s an honest trial pair.
Why we recommend it: The under-$50 trial pair. 11″ rise, 20-21″ opening. Honest about the limitations of lightweight stretch denim at this price.
