Description
The Harlow is Madewell’s high-rise wide leg at a slightly more accessible price than the Perfect — same quality of construction, slightly less premium denim (still good, just not Japanese-mill), and a silhouette that’s measurably wider than the Perfect. Front rise is 12″ (genuinely high), leg opening is 22-23″, and the inseam runs 30-31″ regular.
At 5’7″ and a size 28, this is the Madewell I reach for when I want the Ribcage silhouette at Madewell quality levels. The denim has 1-2% elastane, which means the waistband molds to you and stays molded through a full day — no constant hiking up. After ten-plus washes the silhouette has held cleanly, though I’ll note the fabric has softened noticeably (in a good way, like broken-in selvedge). Honest negative: the leg opening is on the border of wide-leg and straight — if you’re shopping specifically for dramatic drape, the Superwide or Levi’s 94 Baggy will deliver more.
Why we recommend it: The Madewell Ribcage-equivalent at premium mid-tier quality. High rise, 22-23″ opening, holds shape through washes.
