The Cheeky Straight is Gap’s bread-and-butter tall jean — nothing trendy, just a well-executed high-rise straight in a 34-inch inseam. I measured mine at 34.1 inches. On my 5’11” body, they hit at the top of my ankle bone, which is the intended length — Gap calls this the “ankle” fit even in the tall line. If you want them to actually cover your ankle, you need American Tall, not Gap Tall.
Rise is 10.5 inches, leg opening is 14 inches (true straight, slightly narrower than expected), and the fabric is a cotton-elastane blend with about 2% stretch. The Cheeky is named for the slight flattering lift the cut gives through the seat — it’s genuinely noticeable, not marketing. I wear a size 28 and sizing runs true. Honest negatives: “tall” at 34″ is really just “not short” — it’s a regular-inseam-plus-one for most 5’11” women. The straight leg is cut on the slim side.
