Description
The Jane is American Tall’s nod to the Y2K low-rise baggy trend, and it’s the only genuinely tall version I’ve found. The inseam on mine measured 34.2 inches — shorter than the Sarah’s 36, which American Tall did deliberately because baggy jeans are meant to puddle slightly, not stack. Rise hits at about 8 inches, which sits well below the navel (not ultra-low, but true low-rise by 2026 standards). Leg opening is a generous 22 inches — proper baggy, not wide-leg-in-disguise.
Fabric is 100% cotton non-stretch denim, 11.5-oz weight. They arrive stiff and break in over about two weeks of regular wear. I’m 5’11” and these sit exactly where I want a baggy to sit — pooling a half-inch over my sneakers. Honest negatives: the non-stretch denim means no forgiveness through the seat; size up if you’re between. The low-rise will not work if you have a long torso, and the 34″ inseam will feel short if you wanted genuine floor-drag.
Why we recommend it: Y2K baggy with real 34″ length and real low-rise. Not a relabeled regular-rise with “baggy” in the product name.
