Z Supply’s track pants lean 90s revival, but the fabric is rayon-modal, not polyester. That one detail changes the entire personality of the garment, and it’s the reason I bought them. Why rayon changes the feel
This is the whole story on these pants. Rayon-modal has drape. Polyester has memory. Rayon-modal falls with gravity, so the fabric skims instead of hugging, and the overall look is more “90s throwback loungewear” than “just left yoga class.”

Fit and sizing
I’m 5’7″, 150 pounds, medium in Z Supply. I bought the slimmer side-stripe cut in medium and the fit was true through the hip and waist with the drawstring taking up whatever slack I’d want. The tapered ankle hits at the ankle bone on my frame, which looks deliberate — if you’re taller, expect them to ride higher.
The looser wide-leg cut runs a touch generous through the hip. If I owned both (I only bought the slimmer), I’d probably size down on the wide-leg specifically. Drawstrings on Z Supply pants in general are adjustable but lack the flat internal grip some athletic brands use — mine’s worked its way loose once during wear and I had to re-tighten.
Honest negative: the waistband on the slim cut is a standard flat elastic, and it rolls down slightly at the back when I sit for extended periods. Not catastrophic, easy to smooth back in place, but worth knowing if you hate fussing with your waistband.
Pilling and wear notes
After two months, my pair has minor pilling along the inner thigh where my legs rub. Not visible when I’m wearing them, noticeable in hand when I fold them to put away. A fabric shaver takes it off in under a minute. I’d expect this to be ongoing low-level maintenance for as long as I own them.
No color fading through six washes. No seam failures. The elastic waistband is holding up. The drawstring hasn’t pulled out (yet — Z Supply drawstrings sometimes do, and I’m keeping an eye on it). The side stripe has stayed bright. I’d call this a solid wear record for a rayon-blend pant at this price point.
For warmth: these are not warm. The fabric is thin enough to be a shoulder-season pant or an indoor lounging pant. If you want a track pant to wear outside in actual winter, you want french terry or fleece-back, not rayon-modal. This is spring, fall, and heated-indoor-space territory.

Skip these if you want warmth, want to wear them for actual athletic activity, or want a pant that doesn’t require pill maintenance.
