Description
The Original Trucker is the jean jacket every other jean jacket gets compared to. Levi’s nailed this silhouette in 1962 and hasn’t changed it meaningfully since: hits at the hip bone, structured 12-oz cotton denim that holds its shape, two chest pockets with pointed flap closures, and the V-stitched front yoke that’s the brand’s calling card. If you want one denim jacket that does everything, this is the canonical answer.
Honest sizing reality: the Original Trucker runs SMALL through the shoulders and chest — size up one if you want to layer a sweater underneath, or stay true if you only ever wear it over a tee. The non-stretch cotton bleeds indigo aggressively for the first 3-4 wears (don’t pair with a white shirt the first day) and softens dramatically after washing. Snap-button placket throughout, including the cuffs.
Why we recommend it: The blueprint. Six decades of Levi’s making this exact pattern, and it still looks better than most of the brands trying to copy it.
